Well, we made it through another week. T.G.I.F! We here at Sylva’s Kitchen like to kick the weekend off right by posting a blog about a cocktail. Today, we want to highlight the Adios, Mother F$&@er (AMF) or, as known by more polite company, the Blue Motorcycle. This is one of my favorite cocktails! A few years ago, my wife and I had just moved into a new neighborhood in Tracy, Ca. One night, we met some of the neighbors and I decided to make them this wonderful concoction. Everyone loved it! Watch out, though! AMFs pack quite the punch, so it’s easy to get carried away. They can really sneak up on you if you’re not careful!
The AMF combines a bunch of different types of booze and it tastes great! It’s a lot like a Long Island Iced Tea, but instead of Coke and Triple Sec, it calls for Sprite and Blue Curaçao. Blue Curaçao is a liqueur flavored with the dried peel of a bitter orange called Laraha, a citrus fruit grown on the Dutch island, Curaçao. The AMF has a whopping FIVE different alcohols which makes it a very strong drink, indeed. With the brilliant blue of the Blue Curaçao, it’s also beautiful. So, I suggest you pour yourself one of these amazing drinks and enjoy your Friday evening!
