I’ve been making my own seasonings and sharing them with friends and family for years. Everyone loves them and asks for more. One in particular is a favorite of everyone who has tried it, so I made sure to write that recipe down! I named it Sylva’s Kitchen Fault Line Seasoning to honor its origins in California (with the state’s reputation for earthquakes) and a give a nod to the amazing flavor that will rock your world! Sylva’s Kitchen Fault Line seasoning is a delicious seasoning salt. I use it on just about everything I cook and it tastes great on everything–beef, pork, poultry, lamb, seafood, vegetables, and more! One day, I gave some to one of our close friends and she shared it with her neighbor who happened to be the manager of their local grocery store. Well, he thought it was amazing and wanted to make it available to his customers. He reached out to me and I got to work! It’s a big job to meet the state requirements for commercial food sales! I found a local spice manufacturer that could produce and package my seasoning, got labels made, and worked with the grocery store’s corporate office to begin selling it at a few locations. Fault Line Seasoning was really starting to take off! Unfortunately, at the same time, my father became really ill. His illness redirected my focus to more important matters—family. As a result, the seasoning business had to take a backseat. Sadly, after a three year fight, my father lost his battle. By that time, lacking the follow-through and drive needed to keep my seasoning business going, it was nonexistent.
Even through all of the challenges, I’ve continued having Fault Line Seasoning made for friends and family and selling it here and there upon request—all advertising by word of mouth. But here we are, almost five years later, starting the business back up. I’ve had new labels made and have ordered more cases. I will soon be selling Fault Line Seasoning on my blog website as well as my newest seasoning, Lemon Pepper Perfection!
Many of my friends and family requested that I create a lemon pepper seasoning and I finally perfected the recipe! I’m a huge fan of lemon pepper flavors, so it wasn’t a hard sell. I love the way lemon pepper seasoning makes your mouth pucker and your tastebuds tingle. There’s nothing better, especially when it comes to poultry, seafood, and vegetables. Lemon pepper chicken wings, shrimp, and zucchini are frequent flyers on my family’s dinner table! I decided to build on my already amazing Fault Line Seasoning and make it into a fabulous lemon pepper seasoning, now known as Sylva’s Kitchen Lemon Pepper Perfection. Only a select group of people (my tried and true taste testers!) have had the opportunity to try it until this week and everyone who has tried it, LOVED IT!! I’m not exaggerating, this one is already a hit!
